Let’s talk about the pros and cons of both the RK61 and the GK61.
A pro of the RK61 is that the keyboard comes with Cherry MX switches and a 2 mm actuation distance and a total travel distance of 4 mm requiring 45g of force. The RK61’s backplate is astonishing, with minimal flex the RK61 has one of the best backplates by far. Finally, The RGB lighting on the RK61 is better than most mechanical keyboards it doesn’t just change colors, the RGB lighting smoothly moves across the keyboard.
Now the cons of the RK61 aren’t that bad. The keycaps don’t wobble except for the spacebar and the shift key witch has some rattling. In my opinion, I think the micro USB is too short it’s only 180cm which can’t plug into most PCs.
A pro of the GK61 is that you can choose six different gateron switch types. Like the RK61 the build quality is amazing. The gateron yellow switch option has a travel distance of 3.2 mm an actuation point of 1.0 mm and an operating force of 35g and it has a linear feel to it.
Now the cons. The keycaps are ABS which means they will develop a shiny effect the sides of the keycaps are allready shiny. Also, the wall thickness is pretty inconsistent.
If you want your gaming setup to look good then the RK61 definitely will fit you, but, if your looking for a really nice feel for your keyboard then the GK61 has the lead.
